postheadericon Tree Branch

A tree branch is a member or a part of a structure of a tree. It is connected to the central trunk or the main wooden axis of a tree. Tree branches come in several different sizes depending on the overall size of the tree. A bigger tree will indeed have a bigger size for its branches, while a small tree has smaller ones. In spite of that, every tree also has varied sizes of branches. The lager branches are known as boughs and small branches are called twigs.

For their directions of growing, tree branches can grown horizontally, vertically and diagonally. But most of branches grow diagonally. Small branches or twigs are available in two types; they are fruiting spurs and vegetative twigs. Fruiting twigs are where the fruits and leaves of a tree are sprouting and growing. Therefore, they are used to be the measurement of the age of a tree.
